Description
Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). Adoption Fee: $500. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!! New to Doberman Rescue Minnesota. Meet Bruno – Your New Shadow, Snuggle Buddy, and Best Friend! This beautiful Blue Doberman is ready to steal your heart (and probably your spot on the couch). Bruno is estimated to be about 1.5 years old, and while his past is a mystery, one thing is certain: he is absolutely thrilled to be out of the noisy shelter and enjoying life in a foster home. Bruno’s favorite thing in the world is being close to people. He greets you with full-body wiggles and the happiest smile. If you sit down, don’t be surprised if he climbs right into your lap. He is a professional cuddler and would love nothing more than to curl up next to you and sleep in bed if you’ll let him! He’s currently living with his Doberman foster sister. They love to play together and chase each other. She will crawl all over him and steal his toys and he just rolls with it. His personality is sweet and easygoing, with just the right amount of playful young-dog energy. Despite spending much of his life in a shelter, Bruno has impressive house manners. He relaxes politely on the couch while you cook or move around the house. He kennels well while his foster family is at work. He may whimper at first, but settles quickly. Like any curious pup, he occasionally counter surfs, but responds right away when corrected. Bruno also enjoys going for walks and does well on leash, he just needs a little help remembering to slow down because he’s so excited to explore the world! Because he gets very enthusiastic when greeting people he may do best in a home with older children so he doesn’t accidentally knock anyone over. He already knows a few basic commands and is very eager to learn and please his people. Bruno truly has a “just happy to be here” attitude. His sweet nature, loving personality, and gentle spirit make him the kind of dog who will fit into almost any home willing to give him love, guidance, and plenty of cuddles. Bruno is ready to leave his shelter days behind and start the amazing life he deserves with his forever family. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Overview:
The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately. Dobermans can thrive in active families who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation, but their need for space and activity generally makes them less suitable for small apartment living unless exceptionally well-exercised. Regarding health, they are predisposed to certain conditions like Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), Von Willebrand's Disease, and Wobbler Syndrome, so responsible breeding and veterinary care are paramount.
