Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $40. Hi, I’m Lexi! I’m about 8–9 months old, 24 lbs, and I run on snacks, happiness, and an unhealthy obsession with balls. I’m super sweet with lots of puppy energy and I LOVE to play fetch… and if you’re busy, no problem — I’ll even throw the ball around and entertain myself. I’m basically my own recess time. *My adoption fee is sponsored and reduced to just $40 It covers my vaccines (including rabies), vet exam, spay, microchip, fecal test, and general dewormer, so I’m ready to go home! If you’re interested in meeting me, call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment. Hurry… I’ve got a ball waiting.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
