Description

Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). #A5757842 Bluey Meet Bluey! A 3-year-old Chihuahua with a white and brown coat who weighs just 14 lbs. He arrived at the care center on 2/25 as an owner surrender after his owner moved. Bluey seemed pretty scared and overwhelmed at first and wasn’t ready to come out of his kennel, but he appeared calmer when volunteers would pass by. Even with loud barking from nearby dogs, he stayed quiet and observant. Bluey seems like the kind of little guy who would likely turn into a cuddle buddy and couch potato once he feels safe and settled in a home. - Ready to go home - Arrived at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 2/25/2026 - 14 lbs - 3 years old - Male - Chihuahua - White and brown coat - Shy but gentle - Likely a cuddle buddy BLUEY’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/kl5HMdz4ynE For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lorunitedhopeforanimals ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Overview:

The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
