Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Olivia Olivia is a young pup who joined the rescue in early March 2026 after being found alongside her littermate, Sammi. Since then, she’s made herself right at home and has fully embraced the spoiled puppy life almost like she was made for it. She’s the kind of dog that stops people in their tracks with her eyes alone- classic, melt-your-heart puppy dog eyes that she absolutely knows how to use. But she’s more than just cute. Olivia is spunky, curious, and incredibly eager to learn. She’s already showing how trainable she is and picks things up quickly, especially when food is involved (which she loves- mealtime is her favorite event of the day). Olivia is doing great with her crate and settles in well, making her an easy addition to a home that values structure and routine. She’s social, confident, and genuinely enjoys being around others. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is unfazed by cats, and absolutely loves meeting new people- tail wags guaranteed. If you’re looking for a puppy who’s equal parts sweet, smart, and full of personality, Olivia is ready to bring a lot of joy (and a little bit of playful chaos) into your life.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
