Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. This is a courtesy post for the owner of this dog. You will not be adopting from Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue. Please contact the owner directly through the contact info provided below. My name is Enzo. I am a 1-1/2 year old mixed breed (possibly cattle dog) weighing around 40- 50 lbs. Unfortunately, I am looking for a new home. The family that I live with now in Middletown, NJ does not have enough time to take care of me and I spend most of every day in a crate. I would love to be in a forever home with an active family that will give me lots of exercise. Ideally a nice backyard would be great but just daily walks several times a day would be fun too or even a hike now and again. I admit that I do need some training because not getting enough exercise has led to some behaviors that I know I can overcome with the right guidance. I am up to date on my vaccines and am neutered so I am ready to make the move to a new loving forever home. If you would like to meet me or find out any other information please contact Amanda at 732-673-7407 or Michael at 908-601-4349.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
