Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Hi! My name is Nutmeg. I am very sweet and super wiggly. I can't seem to sit still because I have all this energy that needs to get out. I give you sloppy kisses. I am food motivated and I do know how to sit and shake paws with you. I just love food. I do fine in a crate while you are away. I do want to be right with you at all times. I would love to get out and play ball with you. I do fine with other dogs and kids. I do not know how I am with cats. I am so excited to find my new home and to share my love to you. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-5pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
