Description
Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). Daisy's owner passed away and left her and another dog without a home. The shelter was able to rehome the male, but no one wanted Daisy. She is blind, but walks well on leash. She gets along with other dogs and spends a lot of time sleeping in her hard shelled crate in a room in the isolation area. She is a sweet, lovely dog who needs a forever home to live out her final days. This pet is now available for adoption to a good and loving home. If you have a lot of love to share with a best friend please adopt one of our wonderful pets. All pets are fully vetted. Transport is available. The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy.
