Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Sosa is a low-riding little guy who is pure joy on four short legs. He’s the kind of dog who finds magic in every toy (seriously, give him one, he’ll act like it’s the greatest gift he’s ever received), and when playtime winds down, he’s all about the cuddles. He loves to play; whether it’s toys, zooming around, or making new dog friends, he’s always ready for fun. He’s done great with every dog he’s met and has an easygoing, friendly nature that would fit right into a home with kids or other pets. He’s also been great with his foster family’s chickens and shows no interest in them. He’s sweet, adaptable, and just genuinely happy to be included in whatever you're doing. He'd love nothing more than curling up beside you on the couch, just happy to be close. Sosa is about a year old and weighs 38 pounds and isnt going to get much bigger. Sosa is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $300 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
