Description

Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianepluckydoganimalrescue) for more information about this pet. sweet girl ISO fresh start and love! TULIP NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Tulip Best Guess for Breed: Terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 5.5 years as of March 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 16 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here. Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Tulip would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Tulip is Looking For: Her forever home! Tulip is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She is eager to put down roots with her own humans in the DC area. Sniffy walks, romps, all the adventures in her new setting - yes, please! But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her down there by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once this pup has spent time in foster care. Heartworm information: Tulip is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
