Description
Dog Breed: Bichon Frise. Scooter is an 11 year old pureblood Bischon Frise. He is nuetered, UTD on his shots and is scheduled for a dental cleaning. Scooter needs an experienced dog person to be his human. He is slow to warm up.....6-10 weeks, but the wait is worth it according to his foster mom. He does not do good with small children. Older children are fine. He likes other dogs, but is not a cat fan. He loves being outdoors and walks well on a leash. He would be over the moon to have a fenced yard to play in. Scooter's life changed for the better when he started taking fluoxedine (doggie prozac) This inexpensive medicine helps regulate Scooter's nervous system and greatly reduces his anxiety. We feel it is better to be very honest on these dog listings....Scooter will need some extra patience and love to help him live his best life. His turn around in foster care has been amazing. HIs forever person has to be willing to give him time to adjust to his new home. Scooter thinks he is worth the time and work it takes to help him adjust...Are you the special person Scooter is looking for? Adoption fee to help defray SCooter's vet costs: $150

Overview:
The Bichon Frise is a charming and vivacious small dog breed, often described as a "little white puffball." Originating in the Mediterranean, they were historically popular among European nobility. Physically, Bichons are characterized by their soft, curly, double coat of pure white fur, dark, expressive eyes, and a plumed tail carried over their back. Their temperament is generally affectionate, playful, and cheerful, making them excellent companions. They are known for being very sociable and thrive on human interaction, often getting along well with children and other pets, making them a superb choice for families and first-time dog owners. Due to their relatively small size and moderate exercise needs, they are also highly adaptable to apartment living, provided they receive regular walks and playtime. While generally robust, Bichons can be prone to certain health issues, including dental disease, patellar luxation, and allergies, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding and veterinary care.
