Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. This pup will be available to meet starting on 3/28! Peppa is a 2 year old Cane Corso mix weighing 44 pounds with plenty to gain still. She has the most soulful eyes and a heart as soft as they come. This beautiful girl has done her job as a mama and is now ready to retire from motherhood and finally be the one spoiled and cared for. Peppa worked hard raising her puppies and proved herself to be the sweetest, most devoted mama. Now it is her turn to enjoy the good life filled with love, comfort, and plenty of belly rubs. She is incredibly gentle, dainty, and submissive, with a calm and loving personality that makes her easy to adore. Peppa loves people, absolutely adores cuddles, and will happily soak up all the affection you have to give. Belly rubs are her love language, and she never says no to snuggle time. She is also very food motivated, which makes her eager to learn and a joy to bond with. Peppa gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine companions where she can feel safe and part of a pack. She walks nicely on leash, knows some basic obedience, and seems to be potty trained. This sweet girl is ready for a fresh start in a home where she will never have to worry again. She dreams of a cozy bed, a loving family, and a life filled with kindness and comfort. If you are looking for a calm, affectionate, and gentle companion who will fill your home with love, Peppa is ready to be your girl for once and for all. Peppa was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
