Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. This pup will be available to meet starting on 3/28! Meet Pancake Pancake is a sweet mama pittie mix who has done her job raising her babies and is now ready to finally be the one cared for and loved. After working so hard to give her puppies the best start in life, it is her turn to enjoy the soft, cozy, and spoiled life she deserves. This gentle girl is as loving as they come. Pancake adores people, melts for belly rubs, and will happily soak up all the affection you have to give. She has a calm, dainty nature and carries a quiet sweetness that makes everyone fall in love with her. Pancake does wonderfully with other dogs and has a submissive, easygoing personality. She would thrive in a multi dog home where she can have canine companions to cuddle and feel comfortable with. She truly enjoys being around other dogs and fits in easily. She walks well on leash, knows some basic obedience, and seems to be potty trained. She is also food motivated, making her eager to learn and easy to continue training with. Pancake is the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. She dreams of a warm, cozy bed to call her own, a home where she never has to worry again, and a family who will cherish her the way she deserves. If you are looking for a calm, gentle, affectionate companion with the sweetest soul, Pancake is ready to flip right into your heart and your home. Pancake was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico with her 8 puppies. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
