Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $450. ✨ Meet Sophie! ✨ Sophie is a 6-month-old Labrador Retriever/Border Collie mix (best guess) weighing about 42 lbs — and this girl is the total package! Sophie came to our rescue as a local owner surrender after her previous owner was cited by the dog warden for keeping her outside in a crate overnight. Despite that rough start, Sophie has remained incredibly loving, social, and full of joy. Now she’s ready to find the forever family she truly deserves ❤️ Smart? Oh yes…VERY smart! Her foster mom keeps getting her puzzle toys and Sophie solves them like it’s her full-time job . She absolutely loves learning and would thrive with a family that enjoys training, adventures, and fun activities together. This gorgeous girl is also super athletic and would be AMAZING at agility training! Sophie can jump so high to catch a ball or frisbee, and she’s always ready for playtime and outdoor fun And speaking of fun…Sophie is OBSESSED with toys! Balls, squeaky toys, stuffies — she loves them all and is always ready to play, but never destroys them! And for such a young pup, she already has wonderful manners! Sophie is crate trained, house trained, rides great in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and is learning commands quickly because she’s eager to please and loves being part of the action. Sophie absolutely LOVES her people and wants to be wherever her humans are! While she enjoys affection and companionship, she’s not really the “curl up in your lap all day” kind of girl. She’d much rather be your adventure buddy, shadow, and partner in fun ❤️ But don’t worry — she is always happy to cash in on some good belly rubs! ✨ She also loves meeting new people, happily greets other dogs, and makes friends everywhere she goes. Sophie is playful, happy, outgoing, and guaranteed to keep you smiling every single day ✨ If you’re looking for a smart, active, loving best friend, Sophie might just be your perfect match! ✨ Sophie is scheduled for spay and microchip on June 5th, current on her rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm preventative and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $450. If you are interested in the sweet girl, please submit an application on our website at worthytails.rescuegroups. For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilsoncomcast. Thank you for your interest in a rescue puppy! PA Kennel License #18991

Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
