Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $450. Meet Sofie — a confident, intelligent, and fearless little explorer with a heart full of love This fun-loving pup is always ready for her next adventure! Whether it’s exploring the outdoors or playing with her doggy friends, Sofie is happiest when she’s on the move. She would absolutely thrive with an active family that enjoys getting outside and including their pup in the fun—she’s definitely not a couch potato! Sofie is also incredibly people-oriented and loves being close to her humans. Even when she’s playing independently, she never strays far—she just likes that connection. She’s off to a fantastic start with training and is one smart cookie! Sofie is already learning commands like sit, stay, come, and down. Her recall is especially entertaining—when you call her, she comes flying like a rocket with her ears back and full excitement She’s highly motivated, watches closely during training, and even responds to hand signals. This girl is doing wonderfully with house training—no accidents in the house or crate! She goes right to the door and is even learning to ring bells with her nose to let you know she needs to go. Like any puppy, Sofie is still working on a few things. She’s learning not to jump (though her impressive leap straight into your lap might make you laugh!), improving her leash manners, and working through typical puppy behaviors like nipping. She’s also adjusting to crate time—she may bark because she wants to be part of the action, but she’s already making great progress and settles more as she gets into a routine. Sofie is curious and observant on walks, often watching people and other dogs pass by without barking. She’s playful, silly, affectionate, and full of personality. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and loving companion who will keep you smiling and join you on all of life’s adventures, Sofie might just be your perfect match Sophie is current on her rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm preventative and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $450. If you are interested in the sweet girl, please submit an application on our website at worthytails.rescuegroups. Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
