Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Biscuit will turn 2 years old in August and a very good-natured dog. He is still a puppy in Labrador terms so needs a lot of attention and exercise. We checked all the genetic tests for his parents when we purchased him and all were negative for genetic markers for this breed. He does need a grain free diet or he gets diarrhea. We are moving states soon and are currently remodeling and then will be renting so taking a dog is really not an easy option for us. He has been with my son who is now 7 the entire time we’ve had him with no issues. He has had all shots and has heart worm medicine for the rest of the year. **** Breed: Labrador **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2194226&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
