Description
Dog Breed: Maltese / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 300.00. Sweet, loving, loyal shadow, lap dependent 3 year old Maltipoo needs a good home with a person who works from home or is retired. This young boy has not been treated kindly in his early years but is willing to forgive and forget for a loving home. He has come into his foster home eagerly accepting love, food, training, and lots of lap time. He would do well as the only dog or with others. He ignores the foster cats, and is respectful of the dogs in his foster home. Kiko has issues with his back legs in that they are weak and need physical training to make them stronger and stretch his tendons that are too short from being in a too small crate for too long. He is also severely underweight but eating well and gaining weight and strength every day. He still needs to be neutered and have his shots updated as he gains enough health to be ready for the procedures. He will be ready to be adopted once this happens in the near future. His full story can be seen on Facebook StreetPaws page. You can fill out an adoption form by going to StreetPaws. Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150-mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions. To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at .streetpaws/home/adopt. This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Our adoption fee is $250-400 . They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary, dewormed, have received flea prevention, and are micro-chipped. We will ensure the microchip is registered. If more information is needed regarding the pet email infostreetpaws. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Maltipoo, a delightful crossbreed, emerges from the charming combination of a Maltese and a Miniature Poodle, offering a compact and affectionate companion. Originating in the United States, this "designer dog" was selectively bred for its desirable traits, particularly its low-shedding coat and amiable disposition. Physically, Maltipoos typically weigh between 5-20 pounds, sporting a soft, wavy to curly coat that comes in various colors, most commonly white, cream, or apricot. Their temperament is a major draw: they are known for being intelligent, playful, and incredibly loving, often forming strong bonds with their families. This makes them highly suitable for both families with children and apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. While generally healthy, potential health considerations can include patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, and white shaker syndrome, inherited from their parent breeds. With proper care and attention, a Maltipoo can be a joyful and long-lived member of any household.
