Description
Dog Breed: Lhasa Apso. Adoption Fee: 250. Meeko is a 7 yr Lhaso Apso. This boy originally was purchased in a pet store and has had the same family all these years but unfortunately a younger child has become allergic to the dog. He is hypoallergenic, so I am not sure what happened there. Unfortunately Meeko lost his home. He is very overweight and needs to lose about half his body weight. This can easily be done by portion control and stop giving human food constantly. We have him on a diet. He is a nice boy who just wants to be where you are. He likes attention. Gets along with dogs and kids and even cats. He is a bit depressed currently since he lost his family but he is a very low maintenance boy. Adoption fee is $250 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at .southernnevadabeaglerescue . We are also on Facebook at .facebook/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at .meetup/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash. Beagle enthusiasts, come bay with us..... AROOOOOOOOOOOO!

Breed overview
Lhasa Apso
A.K.A.: Lion Dog, Apso, Abso, Shaggy-Haired Tibetan Dog, Bearded Lion Dog, Himalayan Mountain Dog, Tibetan Apso
Overview:
The Lhasa Apso is an ancient and captivating breed, originating in the Himalayas where they served as watchdogs in monasteries and palaces. These small yet sturdy dogs possess a distinctive appearance, characterized by their long, flowing double coat that often comes in a variety of colors, and a charmingly alert expression framed by hair falling over their eyes. Beneath that luxurious coat is a confident and somewhat independent spirit; they are known for being intelligent, devoted to their families, but can be a bit reserved with strangers. Their relatively small size and moderate exercise requirements make them surprisingly well-suited for apartment living, though regular grooming is essential to maintain their magnificent coat. While generally a healthy breed with a lifespan often reaching into their teens, potential owners should be aware of conditions like patellar luxation or eye problems. With proper socialization and consistent training, the Lhasa Apso can be a delightful and loyal companion for individuals and families alike, offering both love and a touch of ancient mystique.
