Description
Dog Breed: Terrier. Hello, my name is Mango! I was found as a stray and was very nervous when I first arrived here. I've since come out of my shell, and am much more confident now! However, it's important to remember that I may have had a tough start and can still be shy at times. I know I may look a little nude at the moment, but believe me when I say that I actually have the most lush golden locks once my hair grows out! So, although my coat seems low-maintenance now, I will require frequent grooming to keep my hair looking its best. It's not just about looks though, if my hair gets too long and isn't groomed adequately, it can form matts that cause me great discomfort. Yes, I'm cute, but there's more to me than just my looks. I have lots of energy and love playing with toys (when I feel like it), and going on walks too! Not to brag, but I've also been told I am a very good loose-leash walker. But don't let my spunky nature fool you - I also enjoy taking a little snooze beside my humans to regain energy for our next play romp. If my silly personality sounds like a good fit for you, then I'd love to be a part of your family! I'm currently available behind the scenes. Please ask customer care to meet me!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
