Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 385. Meet Moonshine Moonshine is a young adult Husky who’s as striking as he is spirited! At around 80 pounds, this big, beautiful boy is full of that classic Husky energy — playful, goofy, and full of life. Pictures simply can’t capture how stunning he is in person or how impressive his size and presence are. Moonshine’s story began when he was found alongside a German Shepherd by a Good Samaritan. After their owner declined to take them back, Moonshine made his way into rescue, where he’s now ready for his next chapter. He’s neutered, heartworm negative, and ready to find either a foster or forever home. True to his breed, Moonshine is full of personality and charm. He’s very dog-friendly and loves the company of other pups. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and on your toes, Moonshine is your guy.

Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
