Dog Breed: Corgi (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $450.00. Hi, I’m Loaf yes, like bread, and yes, I’m just as comforting. I’m a 2 year old corgi weighing in at about 40 pounds (okay okay… I could stand to lose a couple, but who doesn’t love a little extra loaf? ). I love people big, small, all of them. If you’ve got cuddles or belly rubs to offer, I’m already on my way. Toys? Obsessed Treats? Don’t even get me started Walks, adventures, hanging out with my humans — I’m all in And my absolute FAVORITE thing? Attacking the hose water It’s a full-time job and I take it very seriously. I like other dogs but need a slow introduction, and will play once in a while, but I’m more of a “hang with my people and do my own thing” kind of guy. I’m fully potty trained and crate trained but honestly, I can be left out too! I also know how to sit, lay down, and roll over! One tiny thing… I’m a bit of a track star If a door opens, I might try to make a run for it. So you’ll just want to keep an eye on me there! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
