Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). This beautiful 9-year-old Siberian Husky is the definition of resilience and sweetness. After finding herself lost and abandoned at the shelter, Stormy went into a foster home and has settled into life like a pro, integrating seamlessly with dogs of all sizes. She loves all people, especially women. Sheâs submissive, easygoing, and truly just wants to be close to her people. Stormy is a senior girl with so much love left to give. She enjoys walks (sheâs a perfect girl on leash), relaxing in the backyard, cozy naps, beef liver treats, andâher favoriteâbelly rubs. Sheâll happily follow you around the house just to see what youâre up to, and at night, sheâs mastered the art of getting comfy right on the bed or couch. She does have some arthritis noted by the shelter, but it doesnât slow her down one bit. What she really needs is a stable, loving home that understands the beauty and care of a senior dog. After experiencing 2 owners, she deserves a forever family who wonât give up on her. Stormy would thrive in a home with a 6 foot fenced backyard, another dog in the home, or with someone who is home oftenâsheâs not meant to be alone all day. Sheâs an indoor girl who simply wants companionship and comfort. ?? Fun fact: She will steal your breakfast if you leave it unattended! Stormy is truly a special soul, and itâs impossible not to fall in love with her. Interested in meeting Stormy? Reach out today to her foster family ?? huxleysfriendsgmail

Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
