Description
Dog Breed: Coton de Tulear. Meet Siggi He is a 7-year-old, 14-pound purebred Coton de Tulear who came to us as an owner surrender when his previous family struggled to manage some territorial behaviors. Since being in rescue, Siggi has done very well and has shown what a great little dog he truly is. He is good with other dogs and has settled nicely into his routine. Siggi is also neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and recently had a dental, so he’s completely ready for his next chapter. Siggi is a smart boy who walks well on leash, is house trained, and crate trained. He does have a bit of a cheeky side and will benefit from an owner who can provide structure, boundaries, and consistency—someone who won’t let him get away with being a little brat With the right person, Siggi will make an incredibly loyal and loving companion. Age: 7 years Weight: 14 pounds Breed: Coton de Tulear (purebred) Good with other dogs House trained & crate trained Adoption fee: $400 Apply to adopt: .secondleashonlife Siggi just needs the right leader to help him be his best self—and he’ll reward you with so much love

Coton de Tulear
A.K.A.: Coton, Coton dog, Coton de Tuléar, Coton de Madagascar, Madagascan Coton, Cotons, Royal Dog of Madagascar, Antananarivo Coton, Tulear Coton, The Coton, Cotie
Overview:
The Coton de Tulear, often called the "Royal Dog of Madagascar," hails from the island nation off the coast of Africa. This charming breed is instantly recognizable by its long, fluffy, cotton-like coat, which is typically white, sometimes with splashes of black or tri-color. Cotons are small, sturdy dogs, known for their expressive dark eyes and often playful demeanor. Temperament-wise, they are celebrated for being affectionate, intelligent, and highly sociable, forming strong bonds with their families. Their adaptable nature makes them suitable for various living situations, including apartment living, provided they receive regular walks and mental stimulation. They generally get along well with children and other pets, making them a wonderful family companion. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as patellar luxation and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Coton de Tulear is a delightful and relatively low-shedding breed that brings joy and companionship to many homes.
