Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Lady is a very sweet dog and her name fits her perfectly. She is a beautiful German shepherd/lab mix looking for a home due to her parents old age and health issues. They are having to move from their home I to an assisted living facility. They are truly heartbroken. Lady is a very friendly dog and she loves to play and she loves all people. She is currently living with two cats and is good with them. She loves her cat friends. We do not know how she is with other dogs though. She does have a couple friends over the fence but has never been around them without the fence. She is 8 years old. All black. She is spayed and up to date on shots. We are unfortunately looking for a place for immediately due to my in-laws having to move. This is a heartbreaking situation for all involved. Please help me to help Lady!! My phone number is 734 748-1207. Thank you! **** Breed: German Shepherd/lab mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2195843&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
