Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever. Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location Meet RIP C - RIP C is a playful lab mix born in January 2024 with a fun-loving spirit and a smart, well-mannered side to match. He is said to be housetrained and will even ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. RIP C is also crate trained and already knows several commands, including sit, stay, and leave it. He has great manners at mealtime and patiently waits for the “OK” before he starts eating. He absolutely loves being active and would thrive in a home where he can run, play, and enjoy time outdoors. Fetch is one of his favorite games, and he’s always ready for an adventure in the yard. RIP C is very playful with kids and enjoys their energy, though he may get excited and jump during playtime. He is said to do well with cats and enjoys the company of others. When he’s not playing, you might catch him happily munching on some of his favorite treats like bananas and carrots. RIP C is a joyful, energetic companion who would love a home where he can play, learn, and be part of the family. All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.

Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
