Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Flory is sweet, social and loving puppy who's ready to be your perfect sidekick! She will most likely be medium to large when fully grown. Flory has been such a good girl in her foster home, and has gotten along wonderfully with every dog she's met so far. She has done great with cats, too. She absolutely adores her foster siblings (of the human child variety!), and fits right in with family life. She can be a little nervous in the car but does well when she’s able to snuggle up in someone’s lap for reassurance. Flory is still working on potty training, and making progress every day with consistency and routine. Flory is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $350 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at petsmpravl for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
