Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Pennington County Humane Society A Young Mama Ready for Her Own Fresh Start Jazz is a gentle, resilient young dog who has already weathered more than most. Recently a mama herself, she was living as a community dog with no true owner to look out for her. Even with such an uncertain start, she's remained sweet, patient, and trusting. We don't know much about Jazz's past, but what we do know is that she has a kind heart and is already learning her manners here at Pennington County Humane Society. She warms up to calm voices and kind hands, and once she feels safe, her whole body softens and you'll see the sweetest, most grateful expression. Now that her days of raising puppies are behind her, Jazz is ready to focus on her future. She's young, eager to learn, and full of potential. With a little routine and a family who will show her what home truly feels like, she's going to blossom into an incredible companion. Why You'll Love Jazz Sweet, gentle, and people‑oriented Learning her manners and eager to please Young and ready to start her own life A wonderful match for someone who wants to give a deserving dog a second chance Jazz is available for direct adoption or transfer to a trusted partner. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
