Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Cosmo! Here is a list of GREAT things about him: He LOVES to play fetch with his ball (although his version sometimes involves bringing it back, but not TO you) He loves playing with his toys and tug of war He LOVES playing with other dogs He seems to be really intelligent He knows several commands, "sit", "stay", "wait", "paw", "down", "off". He knows to wait for an "okay" command to release after being asked to wait, he knows to do this at meal times. He is highly treat and food motivated He loves most everyone he meets He is house trained and crate trained (It's rare, but he will sometimes protest, but tends to settle quickly) He loves to snuggle on the couch with his people when he is calm and regulatedCosmo would love a home with a doggie friend that can play with him and a home without younger kiddos is also ideal (12+). The last 2 pics are his puppy pictures! Cosmo was born around 5/15/25 and is nearly full grown at 44 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
