Description
Dog Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier (medium coat). Princess was once somebody's baby â and it shows! She's been called a `sweetheart` by everyone who meets her. This chill girl is happiest taking in fresh air, soaking up cuddles, and just being near her person. She generally walks well on a loose leash, but sometimes she wants to go one way and her walker does not. While her little legs are strong, we are working on her staying focused on her person. She seems to get along well with other dogs âhappily racing back and forth with her shelter neighbor in the play yard (see photo). She recently impressed a volunteer on a day trip: - Jumping into the car on her own - Cruising through a Starbucks drive-thru and accepting her pup cup with the gentlest mouth. - She explored a nearby trail and was a wonderful walking companion the whole time. Safe to say she's road-trip ready! Princess deserves a soft place to land â a couch to curl up on, a person to adore, and a life full of the love she so clearly has to give. Could that be with you? Despite their powerful appearance, Staffies are renowned for their affectionate and gentle nature, particularly towards children, earning them the nickname "nanny dog." They are intelligent, highly trainable, and thrive on human companionship, making them excellent family pets. Their relatively small size and moderate exercise needs mean they can adapt well to apartment living, provided they receive daily walks and mental stimulation. Generally a healthy breed, they can be prone to certain conditions like L-2-Hydroxyglutaric Aciduria (L2HGA), hereditary cataracts, and patellar luxation, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. With proper socialization and training, a Staffy will be a loyal, devoted, and entertaining companion.
