Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Meet Benjamin—“Benny” for short—a puppy with a big personality and even bigger ears to match! Benny is a 14-week-old "31 flavors mix", meaning we are not quite sure what he is, other than adorable! He is currently 20lbs, he is expected to be a medium sized dog when fully grown. This happy little guy always has his tail wagging and is ready to bring joy wherever he goes. Benny’s perfect day includes running around with his foster sister, watching birds from the window, playing fetch with his humans and then curling up for snuggles after a long day with his favorite people. One of his cutest quirks? He loves to hoard his toys, carefully gathering them under the table or in his crate like his own little treasure stash. Like any young pup, Benny is still learning the ropes. He’s working on basic commands and has been picking up potty training quickly with consistent trips outside. He’s also discovering that his crate isn’t so scary after all—in fact, it’s becoming a cozy spot for nighttime rest. Benny is a typical puppy who will thrive with continued training, patience, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion to grow with your family, Benny might just be your perfect match! Benny is neutered, microchipped and up to date with age appropriate vaccinations. Apply for him at .pawsacrosspittsburgh/adopt. Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA, KL#16182

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
