Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). Meet Salvatore who was recently rescued from a shelter where his time was running out. Somewhere in the past ten years of his life, Salvatore lost his right eye. His left eye currently has an infection (he's on medicine for it) but he appears to have vision in that eye. He's being treated for a few minor health issues, but we feel he will soon be in good enough shape to come to NJ to find his forever home. Salvatore is a quiet and calm little man, about 10 years old weighing around 9 pounds. He loves wandering around the yard sniffing the grass & he absolutely loves being held. We feel that at one time he had a home where he was loved and cared for & we hope to find that again for him. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation.
