Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed. Meet Atty Atty is a 12-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua with a tender heart and a quiet presence. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just a safe place, a steady routine, and someone she can trust completely. In return, she offers deep loyalty and companionship that only a senior dog can give. She enjoys the simple things in life: short walks, being carried close, and riding along in the car. Atty has a great appetite (treats are definitely the way to her heart!) and settles nicely in her kennel, especially when visitors come over. She isn’t overly vocal, though she will alert you to unfamiliar sounds like a knock at the door. Atty does well with other small dogs and confident, respectful cats. However, she is a very fearful girl, and the world can feel overwhelming to her at times. New people are especially hard, and she needs patience and understanding when building trust. Atty is not a good fit for homes with men, as she has a history of biting when scared. Her ideal home will be a calm, predictable environment with someone willing to move at her pace. As a senior, Atty has a few medical considerations. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and recently had a full senior exam with bloodwork. She has a grade 4 heart murmur that does not currently require medication, some stiffness managed with joint supplements, and she takes medication to help with anxiety. She is also not fully potty trained, but with frequent outings and a consistent routine, it can be managed. Atty isn’t a “perfect” dog—but she is a very real one. She’s looking for someone who sees past her fears and quirks, and who is willing to give her the gentle, loving home she deserves in her golden years.
