Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Meet Enzo! Enzo is a handsome 2-year-old Cane Corso who lost his home simply for acting like a Corso. What does that mean? When a stranger walked into his home, Enzo barked and stood between his family and the person coming in — exactly what this breed is naturally wired to do. Enzo needs a home that understands Cane Corsos, their loyalty, their protective instincts, and the importance of structure and leadership. This big solid boy is a bit like a bowling ball in a china shop — sweet, goofy, strong, and full of personality. He is super dog friendly and does great in playgroups with both males and females. His ideal home would have a large-breed female dog with a similar rough-and-tumble play style. Enzo is great with kids, house trained, crate trained, not destructive in the home, and decent in the car. He even went to doggy daycare when he was younger and did well. He loves treats, enjoys a good belly rub, and is truly a wonderful dog for the right family. Enzo is looking for a home that knows and respects the breed and will give him the guidance, companionship, and love he deserves. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
