Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd. Say hello to Tj, a lovable goofball with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Tj is a sweet, playful adolescent who's currently enrolled in his self-designed course: 'How to Be the Best Boy Ever (Advanced Level). He's already mastered sit, down, and shake; he's super smart and eager to keep learning, especially if praise is involved. Now, let's talk about Tj's star quality: this boy has a LOT to say. Whether he's requesting belly rubs, giving his thoughts on your outfit, or hosting his imaginary talk show 'The Tj Hour,' he's not shy about using his voice. Honestly, he's just waiting for his big break as a talk show host. Like many teenage pups, Tj can get a little jumpy when he's excited. With the right guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement, Tj will blossom. Because of his size and zest for life, he'd thrive best with experienced large dog owners who can help him stay on track. Tj is ready to grow, learn, and become the absolute best boy. He just needs someone to cheer him on and listen to his daily monologues. Good news, I qualify for Foster to Adopt! Please speak to a SPCA staff member for more information. Tj is currently available behind the scenes. Please speak to one of our wonderful customer care staff to meet him!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
