Description
Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). MEET DAISY #28!!! Daisy is a gentle, affectionate, and intelligent young pup who’s ready to find her forever home! Found running the streets alongside her brother Duke, Daisy has shown nothing but sweetness and resilience. She gets along well with other dogs, does great with children, and is friendly with all adults, making her a wonderful addition to a family environment. Daisy is kennel trained, leash trained, and rides well in the car. While she has been around cats, she would do best in a home where she isn’t left alone with them. Unlike many huskies, Daisy is quiet and not much of a barker. She has a beautiful, shorter coat that’s incredibly soft and low-shedding. Though she can be a bit timid at first, her loving and gentle nature quickly shines through once she feels safe and comfortable. Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
