Description
Dog Breed: Lhasa Apso / Shih Tzu / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Franny is a loving, lap sitting bundle of joy. She is spayed, chipped, and had a dental where 15 teeth were removed, along with a mammary tumor removed with clean margins. She is about 8 years old and 12.5 pounds. She was picked up as a stray. It’s a mystery why she was never claimed, as she had recently been groomed and obviously had come from a very loving home. She is adorable and loves everyone. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Franny is $300. If you are interested in adopting Franny, please complete our online adoption application at .gratefuldogsrescue/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. Franny is being fostered in South San Francisco See our other available dogs at .gratefuldogsrescue/available-dogs/

Breed overview
Overview:
The Shih Apso is a charming and affectionate designer breed, a delightful blend of the Lhasa Apso and the Shih Tzu. Originating from crossing these two beloved Tibetan breeds, the Shih Apso inherits a wonderful combination of traits. Physically, they are typically small to medium-sized, boasting a luxurious, long, and often wavy double coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting. Their appearance can vary, but generally, they possess expressive eyes and a sweet, often flattened face. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and quite playful, making them excellent companions. They adapt well to apartment living and are generally good with respectful children and other pets, though early socialization is always beneficial. While generally healthy, potential health concerns can include respiratory issues common to brachycephalic breeds, as well as eye and joint problems, underscoring the importance of choosing a reputable breeder. Their loving nature makes them a wonderful addition to many households seeking a devoted furry friend.
