Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). Say hello to Sasha, our tiny new arrival with a big personality! This 5-year-old Chihuahua just joined us at the shelter, and weâre still getting to know all the little quirks that make her special. Like many Chihuahuas, Sasha has a lot to sayâsheâs quite the chatterbox and isnât shy about sharing her thoughts! While she may come off a bit timid at first, give her a little time (and a lot of kindness), and youâll see her start to blossom. Once she feels safe, her sweet and loyal nature begins to shine through. Sasha would do best in a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. Loud or busy environments might overwhelm her, but in a calm, loving space, she has so much potential to become a devoted little companion. If youâre someone who understands that the best friendships take timeâand youâre ready to offer gentle encouragement and lots of loveâSasha might just be your perfect match. If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. Your dogâs adoption fee includes: - Current age-appropriate CORE Vaccines (Rabies/DHPP/Bordetella) - Heartworm Tested - Current on NexGard PLUS Monthly Preventative Chew (Flea/Tick/Heartworm Preventative & Dewormer) - Spaying or Neutering - 24-Petwatch Microchip Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2026 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
