Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Housebroken/Litter box: Yes Lived with Dogs: Unknown, seeking no dog home Lived with Cats: Unknown Lived with Kids: Unknown Crate trained: No Reason at shelter: Owner surrender Profile: Hi there, I am Dahlia Rose and overall I am a loose and wiggly girl, who adores people. I am hanging out in a foster home right now, because I get very stressed being in a kennel, and it is embarassing to admit, but I start drooling rivers. When I am with people, I am so happy and snuggly. I have been on a few field trips at the shelter and have gotten great report cards! I am snuggly and loving and a medium energy gal. While I have done well in shelter playgroups, I should not go to a home with other dogs as I struggle and react poorly if I feel confronted by another canine. I will be happiest in a home where I can be your one and only pet. *Please note that all information is from this petâs prior home history and/or experiences in the shelter. Experience in adoptive home is not guaranteed.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
