Description

Dog Breed: English Bulldog (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. Thank you Amber for taking sweet Baby out for "Doggy Day Out"!! Here is what she had to say about Baby while she was out: "Hey guys! My fiancé and I took Baby out for the day today. I work for Berkeley County Emergency Ambulance Authority, so we visited some of the stations. The woman in the picture is Captain Wendy Musselman if you need that. Baby also got to go to PetSmart, a couple of dog parks and even got a pup cup! She’s a complete sweetheart and so great in the car. She loves treats and likes to explore around. She was an absolute gem. We loved our time with her and she was a hit with the station!" Baby is 4 years old and is an English Bulldog. She needs a specific home. A home without young kids, other dogs or cats. She needs to be the center of her world. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card, includes spay/neuter, first shots and microchip.. Mon.-Sat. 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Overview:

The Bulldog, often recognized by its distinctive pushed-in face and sturdy build, is a beloved breed with a rich history rooted in England. Originally bred for bull-baiting, their temperament has evolved significantly, making them gentle, affectionate companions today. Physically, Bulldogs are medium-sized, characterized by their broad shoulders, short legs, and loose, wrinkled skin. Their short coat typically comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat imposing appearance, Bulldogs possess a surprisingly sweet and docile nature, making them excellent family pets and remarkably well-suited for apartment living due to their lower energy levels. However, prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns, including brachycephalic airway syndrome, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin fold dermatitis, which necessitate regular veterinary care and attention to their unique needs. Their calm disposition and moderate exercise requirements make them a wonderful choice for those seeking a loving and loyal companion.
