Description
Dog Breed: English Bulldog. Due to the large number of applications recieved for Chunkamuffin, we are no longer accepting new ones. Meet Chunkamuffin This tiny, 9-week-old English Bulldog has been fighting for her life since the very beginning. She came into our care when she was only a few hours old, weighing next to nothing and facing challenges most puppies never have to endure. Born with a cleft palate, Chunkamuffin couldn’t nurse from her mom or take a bottle. From day one, she depended on tube feeding and around-the-clock care just to survive. For the first 4 weeks of her life, every feeding, every hour, every ounce gained was a victory. And somehow… this little girl didn’t just survive—she thrived. Now weighing 5 pounds and growing stronger every day, Chunkamuffin has blossomed into a spicy, sweet little love bug. Her favorite place in the world? Curled up on your shoulder, soaking in all the love she can get. She has come so far, and now she’s ready for the next chapter of her journey—a forever home filled with patience, understanding, and lots of snuggles. Because of her special start in life, we’re looking for a home with English Bulldog experience. Experience with cleft palate pups would be amazing, but most important is a heart willing to continue giving her the care and love she deserves. Chunkamuffin didn’t give up—and she’s looking for someone who won’t give up on her either. If you feel that pull in your heart… Apply. Her forever family might just be you. Applications can be filled out at .piedmontanimalrescue/adopt! Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. Overview:
The Bulldog, often recognized by its distinctive pushed-in face and sturdy build, is a beloved breed with a rich history rooted in England. Originally bred for bull-baiting, their temperament has evolved significantly, making them gentle, affectionate companions today. Physically, Bulldogs are medium-sized, characterized by their broad shoulders, short legs, and loose, wrinkled skin. Their short coat typically comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat imposing appearance, Bulldogs possess a surprisingly sweet and docile nature, making them excellent family pets and remarkably well-suited for apartment living due to their lower energy levels. However, prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns, including brachycephalic airway syndrome, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin fold dermatitis, which necessitate regular veterinary care and attention to their unique needs. Their calm disposition and moderate exercise requirements make them a wonderful choice for those seeking a loving and loyal companion.
