Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Nienie is a quiet and sweet girl who is very loving. She will come to paw you for pets and play fetch for hours. She loves squeaky balls! She catches on to routine very fast. She is housetrained and sleeps through the whole night, whether you want her in your bed, on the floor, or in the crate. Nienie loves being near people at all times. This curious girl is great on the leash and loves exploring new routes and trails. She has a very high prey drive and loves squirrels! Although she is not good with any other animals. She listens to house rules very well and stays off furniture. Currently she knows sit, paw, and come and will love someone to teach her more commands! Nienie is very silly and becomes friends with everyone she meets! And is good with little kids! I could see her being a great family dog. She is great with all grooming like showers, brushing, and wiping paws. She is a very playful girl, but once you are ready to chill sheâs right there with you! She would thrive in an active household who can keep up with her training and animal neutrality.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
