MARVEL - LABRADOR RETRIEVER / MIXED (MEDIUM COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). ***Marvel is currently located at our rescue in Georgia. She is scheduled to attend our upcoming adoption event in Ringoes, NJ over the April 18-19 weekend. An application for her adoption can be submitted at socorescue (no need to register or login). Questions about Marvel and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8gmail; please do not call the Rescue's number.*** Marvel and her two siblings were found as strays and given temporary housing by a local family. Within a week of being at that home, her brother, Superman, became deathly sick and tested positive for Parvo. While we were able to get her brother into our rescue, which saved his life, we simply didn't have space for Marvel or her sister, who unfortunately passed away due to the virus. By the time we were able to get Marvel into our rescue and without receiving conventual Parvo treatments, she surprisingly survived the deadly virus and is now very healthy and happy. When Marvel arrived and was reunited with her brother, it brought tears to our eyes. Both pups were very surprised to see each other again and immediately began playing with each other. Marvel's very sweet and affectionate personality, as well as being well-socialized towards humans, will make a great addition into any home situation, even if this would be the adopter's first dog. Prior to her adoption, Marvel will have received 2/3 of her first year "puppy" vaccines(the third being due on 4/28), been de-wormed and treated against parasites at proper intervals. She's already been started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives as well. Her adopter must agree to having Marvel spay once she reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to SoCo. Marvel will require all of her basic training. (According to the American Veterinarian's Association, any dog or puppy that overcomes Parvo will then most likely be immune to the virus. Regardless, such dogs/puppies should still be kept up to date on their annual vaccinations. Please speak with your vet concerning proper vaccinations.)
