Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Husky / Mixed. Meet Avalon! Breed: Lab/Husky Mix Estimated DOB: 06/01/2025 Sex: Female (spayed) Weight: 35-40 lbs Currently up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations Last summer, we welcomed a litter of puppies we called the "Jersey Shore pups" after they were dumped at an elementary school. But one sweet girl had to stay behind… and that was Avalon. She had been stepped on or hit by a car as a young puppy, leaving two of her legs deformed from the trauma. Amputation was once a very real possibility. But with months of ongoing medical care and physical therapy in Mississippi, she built up the strength to finally make the trip to Pennsylvania. TLC has stood by her every step of the way, covering her care and waiting for the day she was strong enough to travel - and that day is finally here! She's the last of the Jersey Shore pups looking for her forever home. Things To Know about Avalon: Happy, goofy, full-of-life puppy who hasn't let anything dim her spirit and settled right into her foster home HUGE cuddle bug who wants to be as close to you as possible and loves joining you on the couch Loves toys - chewing on bones, tossing around soft toys and tennis balls, and snoozing on dog beds Goofy girl who sometimes likes to find her own cozy hideaway spot behind her crate or under furniture Absolutely loves playtime, especially fetch, and gets the most impressive zoomies you've ever seen Did great on a 1-mile walk and kept up with her foster siblings - her back leg doesn't slow her down one bit! Settled into her crate quickly and will hang out in there throughout the day, though she cries initially at bedtime before settling down Housebroken Dog friendly but can be a little territorial around her crate and food, so she'll need continued guidance on sharing space and resources Cat friendly Looking for a loving and committed forever home to provide her with the care and love she deservesLearn more and apply to adopt at TLCrescuePA/adopt Interested in fostering? Breed overview
Overview:
The Labsky, a charming crossbreed of the Labrador Retriever and the Siberian Husky, originated from the desire to combine the best traits of its beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large dogs, often exhibiting a fascinating blend of features; expect a robust build, varying coat colors and textures (from sleek black to fluffy merle), and captivating eye colors, sometimes even heterochromia. Temperamentally, Labskies are known for being intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They thrive on human companionship and require significant mental and physical stimulation to prevent boredom, making them best suited for active families or individuals with a large, securely fenced yard. Due to their energy levels and potential for vocalization, they are generally not ideal for apartment living. While typically healthy, they can inherit predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain skin allergies, so responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups are crucial.
