Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Meet Teddy a 2yr old male shepherd mix weighing 46.4lbs. Teddy can be a little skittish when he first meets you, but only because he has seen the worst of humanity in his short life. If you are willing to have a little patience and show him some love Teddy will be your best friend. Once he feels safe he loves to run around and play outside with you. Teddy loves to lay in your lap for cuddles. He isn't the "life of the party" type, but once you earn his trust he is the kind of dog who will look at you like you're his whole world. Come in today to meet Teddy or apply to adopt him on our website. Scottky.rescuegroups

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
