Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Batman is a 3-month-old male Healer (Australian Cattle Dog) mix. These puppies were born at PAHS shortly after their mother was turned in. They were put into foster until they were old enough for adoption. Each puppy is adorable and uniquely marked; there are 10 of them available for adoption. These puppies will be medium to large adult dogs who will weigh at least 50 pounds. All of these puppies are very loving, sweet, and would be good with other dogs and children. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under "special needs" our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
