Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed. Meet Tillie — a truly wonderful girl who makes life easy. She was recently surrendered back to us after her adopter was no longer able to care for her due to unexpected health concerns, so she is still settling into her foster home and we’re continuing to learn more about her every day. Tillie is completely house trained, sleeps soundly in her dog bed all night without a peep, and has lovely manners on leash. She enjoys her daily walks and takes her step count seriously — she keeps a steady pace and is happiest when she’s moving. While she prefers quieter streets and isn’t a fan of heavy traffic, she walks calmly past other dogs and stays focused on her adventure. At home, Tillie is a gentle companion who enjoys simply being near her person. She’ll happily curl up beside you on the couch and quietly follow you from room to room to see what you’re up to. She may not have discovered the joy of toys just yet, but she does get the cutest bursts of zoomies that show her playful side. Tillie just needed a little time to decompress, and once she did, her sweet personality really began to shine. She can be a bit cautious when meeting new people, but she approaches politely at her own pace and quickly shows her gentle nature. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal walking buddy who will also happily relax by your side, Tillie may be your perfect match. She’s an easy, loving girl who will quietly steal your heart. This pup will be available to meet starting on 4/4 Prior to her first adoption, she was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
