Since Nutmeg is new to us, all we know now is here online. Here's Your Quick Peek: Nutmeg is a five-year-old shih tzu mix that came from a hoarding case. While she has not lived in a home before she has a lot to learn as far as what is means to live with her perfect family. She is sweet but can be timid. Must have: A calm patient family with rescue dog experience. Exercise: Nutmeg is pretty calm and would enjoy a walk at least once a day. Best with: Other dogs, gentle approaches and treats! Not ideal for: We think Nutmeg could mold into many different calm home environments. Energy level: Low Nutmeg is looking for a family that will show her what is means to be a well-loved pet and give her the time to soak up all of the affection you can offer. She loves cuddles and attention from people she trusts. Good with dogs: YES! Good with kids: We think with older respectful kids Nutmeg would enjoy their company. Cats: Yes. The Shih Tzu, affectionately known as the "lion dog," boasts an ancient and regal lineage, originating from the Tibetan plateau and further refined in imperial China. These charming canines are easily recognized by their striking appearance: a small, sturdy build, a distinctive undershot jaw, and a long, flowing double coat that often requires regular grooming to prevent matting. Temperamentally, Shih Tzus are renowned for being affectionate, outgoing, and playful companions, making them wonderfully suitable for a variety of households. Their adaptable and generally good-natured disposition means they often thrive in families with children and are particularly well-suited for apartment living due to their modest exercise requirements.
