Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). Please meet Miss Harriet. She is a 2yr old,37 pound,current on vaccines, spayed female, heartworm negative Terrier mix. OMG! She is the sweetest ,friendliest lady. Loves to cuddle and also so playful. Curious and such a good helper at the reception desk. She is quite the greeter. I believe she smiles at each client walking through the door. She is good with other dogs and has met some some children while here at the clinic. They are most amusing to her and so much fun to play with. Miss Harriet would love to be the next furry addition to your home Please Apply at mmahrescue / Adoption Fee $300 Our hospital is open for adoption visitation Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm and Saturday's from 8:00am to 11:00am. Prior to meeting an adoptable animal we do require an approved application to be on file, sorry for this inconvenience. Cat adoption fees are $50 for kittens under 16 weeks of age and $75 for kittens/cats over 16 weeks of age. Dog adoption fees are $150 for puppies under 16 weeks of age and $175 for dogs over 16 weeks of age.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
