Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Rottweiler / Mixed. Cooper is a smart, affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves cuddling with his people after a fun day of play and would thrive with an adopter who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, and letting him explore. Cooper is a champion toy collector and bone enthusiast—if there’s a toy around, chances are Cooper has claimed it for his treasure pile. He takes toy management very seriously! Cooper does well with cats and other dogs, though his bouncy play style means he’ll do best with companions who enjoy his enthusiasm. He loves kids but his bouncy energy may tumble the little ones, but that same fun loving spirit is what makes him the kind of dog that children dream of having. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and loyal companion, Cooper may be your perfect match. Cooper doesn't like to be crated and we recommend an airline crate for him. Breed overview
Overview:
The Shepweiller, a robust crossbreed stemming from the German Shepherd Dog and the Rottweiler, originated from the desire to combine the intelligence and trainability of the former with the strength and loyalty of the latter. Physically, they are large, powerful dogs, typically boasting a dense, short to medium coat in black and tan, or solid black. Their temperament is generally confident, protective, and intelligent, making them excellent guard dogs and loyal companions. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strong will and protective instincts. While incredibly devoted to their families, their size and exercise needs make them less suitable for small apartments; a home with a fenced yard is ideal. As with many large breeds, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, and they may be prone to certain cancers, so regular veterinary check-ups are important for their long-term well-being.
