She is sweetheart who truly lives up to her name—she’s pure joy in dog form. Calm, affectionate, and incredibly easygoing, Holly has a gentle presence that makes her an instant favorite with everyone she meets. She’s fully potty trained, knows her basic commands, and has wonderful manners. On walks, Holly is a dream—she strolls right by your side with no pulling, happily taking in the world around her. And she loves saying hello, especially to her fellow dog friends! Holly would make the perfect work-from-home companion. She’s content to relax nearby while you work, always ready for a little affection break. She absolutely adores being close to her people and will gladly roll over for belly rubs any chance she gets. At night, she settles in easily and sleeps through without a fuss. Holly is still decompressing from shelter life so she will need to be in an adult only home, or one with older, respectful children. She is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
