Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: Christiana, TN Say Hello to Penny! AKA Penny Lane, Pen Pen , Pig Pen, Penmeister , Penster Penny is a very sweet and snuggly 12-week-old puppy who loves a good lap nap, cuddle session and is excellent at entertaining herself with toy s, or whatever may be handy LOL. She would do best with a confident, friendly, playful dog that is fine rough housing and can show her that the world is a cool place to explore. She has been respectful of our older, grumpy dog but is still a puppy and needs an outlet for her energy so there should be at least one young dog for her to play with in the home. She loves to chase kitties , all in fun , so a dog savvy cat or no cats , would be best for her. She is respectful of their murder mittens but can be easily enticed to chase. Small children may be too much for her, so older children over 8, that can be calm, gentle, and go slow with her would be best. She can jump a two-foot ex-pen, but she has not tested any fence lines when in our 5 ft. fenced yard. She is a dream in a crate for naps, bedtime, or car rides. She does have some mild motion sickness/nervousness in the car that we are working through and often puppies grow out of it. She is cautious of new people and places but will warm up to people slowly. She is already sleeping through the night and happily goes into her crate at bedtime and has been sleeping from 8:30pm-6am since her second night with us. Like any young puppy she is still working on her potty training and will need vigilance and someone keeping a close eye on her for her to continue to succeed. She plays hard and naps hard all throughout the day so having someone home during the day can help with her potty training and keep her mind and body engaged. She LOVES to carry things in her mouth and will even chase and bring toys back already. With some gentle training, patience, and positive socialization, Penny will make a wonderful companion and family dog. Penny was born January 12, 2026, has had all her puppy vaccines and been wormed. She is microchipped and will be adopted with a spay contract. Contact ragaboeamgmail. Complete an Application: .acdra/adoption-application

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
