Description
Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). The Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center has a large number of animals just waiting for adoption. And we receive new "adoptees" every day, so add our website to your "favorites" list and visit us often. .talgov/animals Iâm Dover, a 22-pound boy who came to the shelter as a stray, and while I may be adorable as can be, Iâm still learning that the world is a safe place. I can be a little nervous at first, but I warm up with time and am gaining confidence every dayâI really do enjoy attention once I feel comfortable. Everything feels pretty new to me, so Iâll need a patient family who respects my boundaries and lets me move at my own pace as I settle in. Iâm gentle, sweet, calm, and laid back, and I settle quickly, but I also enjoy playing with other dogs. Iâm already learning to sit and showing just how smart I am, and with a little guidance, Iâve got TONS of potential to grow into an amazing companion.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Aussie Pyrenees is a striking hybrid that combines the herding instincts of the Australian Shepherd with the guardian nature of the Great Pyrenees. Originating as a designer mix, this breed is known for its large size, often weighing between 50–110 pounds, with a thick double coat that can come in a variety of colors including white, cream, brindle, and tri-color. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and protectiveness, making them devoted family companions who thrive in active households. While affectionate and gentle with children, they can be wary of strangers, so early socialization is important. Due to their size and energy, they are best suited for homes with spacious yards rather than apartments. With proper care, they enjoy a lifespan of 10–15 years, though owners should watch for potential health concerns such as hip dysplasia and joint issues common to large breeds.
